Happy Easter

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."  John 14:27.  What a wonderful Savior.  I am so grateful for all He has done and is doing, from Creation, to the stable, to the cross, to my Savior and so much more.  Thank you Jesus.

I hope you have all had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday.  We have had a blessed weekend, beginning with Good Friday, as David had the day off.  The weather was good for a day at the zoo. Aidric provided us with some laughs and giggles.  I didn't know if he would be able to recognize the animals in the cages, we would point them out to him, and soon he was pointing at the animals and other things.

sneaky lil' lioness.

he already has the idea of driving

even pointing at the bushes

just had to throw this one in, thought it so cute.

The day before Easter is quite a busy one at our home.  I like to bake and holidays I get to bake a lot.  Danika had been wanting Strawberry cheesecake french toast she had at a restaurant, and since I actually had the ingredients we made it.  Why not, we were in the baking mode.  Here is Aidric enjoying it.

Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast
   French toast
10 eggs
2/3 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
dash salt
1 Tblsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
Mix well, dip bread and cook on griddle.
   Cream Cheese filling
8 oz soften cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
beat till smooth, spread a spoonful on top of the french toast.
   Strawberry Sauce
2 cups cut up straw berries
1 cup strawberry glaze
1 cup maple syrup
combine then spread on top of the toast and filling.  Top with another piece of french toast and a spoonful of the strawberry sauce

Ok, so maybe not the healthiest breakfast, but yum!  You could have it for a desert.  It was so good I had to share.

We spent most the day baking and yard work.  Then in the evening my sister, her daughter, and Brent joined us for egg coloring.

Resurrection Sunday was good start with church service. Then a egg hunt for the kiddos...
At home we took a nice family photo (but missing Alexander) and had our own egg hunt.  Cassie rushed around frantic like Alex used to, Danika takes it serious, Sierra just had fun looking for the hard ones and helping out her sisters, Brent helped Isabella, and Latisha helped Aidric.  Aidric liked to refer to them as balls and kept throwing them in his basket.  Soooo cute.
Then in the afternoon we went to Brent and Latisha's house that is being built.  It is making good progress and might even be finished before the wedding.

They even got the cabinets in.
Here's the back where the garage is.  Not bad at all.

The most important part of this day, in all it's activities, is to remember the sacrifice the Lord made for us on the cross.  I hope that you have a close relationship with the Lord.  If not, please seek him.  Read a Bible (a good place to begin is the book of John in the Bible) and you will find that the One who loves you most in this whole universe is seeking for a relationship with you.  This has been a long blog and if you made it to the end, thank you for letting me share.  God bless.
