A Happy Birthday to Sierra

The clouds and rain have passed and the sun is brightly shining.  A lovely day to celebrate Sierra's 14th birthday.  I am so blessed to have Sierra as my daughter.  Her positive attitude and willing to help out where ever, whenever is such a blessing.  She is looking forward to being a bridesmaid for her sister, Friends graduation, and possibly getting a driver's permit.  Guess we'll have to see.  God has so many good things ahead for you my sweet daughter.  Happy Birthday with lots of love.

Happy Easter

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you.  Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."  John 14:27.  What a wonderful Savior.  I am so grateful for all He has done and is doing, from Creation, to the stable, to the cross, to my Savior and so much more.  Thank you Jesus.

I hope you have all had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday.  We have had a blessed weekend, beginning with Good Friday, as David had the day off.  The weather was good for a day at the zoo. Aidric provided us with some laughs and giggles.  I didn't know if he would be able to recognize the animals in the cages, we would point them out to him, and soon he was pointing at the animals and other things.

sneaky lil' lioness.

he already has the idea of driving

even pointing at the bushes

just had to throw this one in, thought it so cute.

The day before Easter is quite a busy one at our home.  I like to bake and holidays I get to bake a lot.  Danika had been wanting Strawberry cheesecake french toast she had at a restaurant, and since I actually had the ingredients we made it.  Why not, we were in the baking mode.  Here is Aidric enjoying it.

Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast
   French toast
10 eggs
2/3 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
dash salt
1 Tblsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
Mix well, dip bread and cook on griddle.
   Cream Cheese filling
8 oz soften cream cheese
1/2 cup sugar
beat till smooth, spread a spoonful on top of the french toast.
   Strawberry Sauce
2 cups cut up straw berries
1 cup strawberry glaze
1 cup maple syrup
combine then spread on top of the toast and filling.  Top with another piece of french toast and a spoonful of the strawberry sauce

Ok, so maybe not the healthiest breakfast, but yum!  You could have it for a desert.  It was so good I had to share.

We spent most the day baking and yard work.  Then in the evening my sister, her daughter, and Brent joined us for egg coloring.

Resurrection Sunday was good start with church service. Then a egg hunt for the kiddos...
At home we took a nice family photo (but missing Alexander) and had our own egg hunt.  Cassie rushed around frantic like Alex used to, Danika takes it serious, Sierra just had fun looking for the hard ones and helping out her sisters, Brent helped Isabella, and Latisha helped Aidric.  Aidric liked to refer to them as balls and kept throwing them in his basket.  Soooo cute.
Then in the afternoon we went to Brent and Latisha's house that is being built.  It is making good progress and might even be finished before the wedding.

They even got the cabinets in.
Here's the back where the garage is.  Not bad at all.

The most important part of this day, in all it's activities, is to remember the sacrifice the Lord made for us on the cross.  I hope that you have a close relationship with the Lord.  If not, please seek him.  Read a Bible (a good place to begin is the book of John in the Bible) and you will find that the One who loves you most in this whole universe is seeking for a relationship with you.  This has been a long blog and if you made it to the end, thank you for letting me share.  God bless.

Happy 11th Birthday Danika!

It is such a beautiful day to celebrate the 11th Birthday of my fourth child, Danika.  Danika has one of my favorite laughs in the whole world and is such a help.  I enjoy watching her as she is growing into such a beautiful young woman of God.  She is tender hearted, a go getter, and such a helper.   I am so blessed to call her my daughter.  One of my favorite moments this year was watching her conquer her fear, on the blast off ride.   It puts a smile on my face today.  What a trooper.  Love you so much Danika, Happy Birthday!!!!!!

Wedding Update

Ahh the sun is setting on another beautiful day.  One day closer to "the day."  With four and a half months since the engagement and less then two months to the wedding there is lots of work to be done.  Dresses are almost done, shoes bought, decorations chosen, invitations sent, shower set up, registry done, and much more….yet there is so much to do.  It is fun, a little overwhelming for me at times, but fun.  It has been so exciting to watch Latisha shine as hopefully her dreams are coming together.  The cake, the flowers, the anticipation- all so exciting.

Latisha has been working on  projects to make things special and personal.  I am very impressed.  Things are a little more creative then when I got married.  I think we got most wedding supplies at a couple stops and the wedding was planned.  We used to joke we could have got married in a month.

We have begun receiving RSVP cards and every day it is wonderful to see the people responding.  I have to admit I am one of the worst about returning rsvp cards promptly so I was a bit surprised as we received our first rsvp card a couple days after we sent the invitations.

Our exciting news is that Brent and Latisha decided to build their first home.  The foundation has already been pored, the walls are up and the roof is on.  They had fun picking out the property, floor plan, and colors and even bought their first refrigerator.  What fun to watch my little girl and the love or her life preparing and building their first home.  It is all such a blessing.  God has blessed their engagement and we are getting excited for the big day.
