He is Risen Indeed

I hope you all had a wonderful Resurrection Sunday.  I prefer to call it what it is, the celebration of our Savior's resurrection.  For truly that is the basis for all our hope.  That through the shed blood of Jesus Christ we can receive eternal life.  Now after saying all that we get lazy and do call it Easter also.  I think when I say Resurrection Sunday, I am referring to the Christian aspect of the day when I refer to Easter I tend to think of all the activities of the day.  I love having another reason to get together with those we love.

Spring is in the air, although the other day we did have a snow shower.  David came walking into the kitchen, as we were starting our day, singing "I'm dreaming of a white Easter."  Easter was without snow, and turned out lovely.  We had a good sermon, good weather, good gifts, good food, and good fellowship.  We are grateful for the sacrifice our savior made and we rejoice in the gifts of new life and family time.  Here are a few pictures.  We also had a family birthday celebration for Danika and Sierra.  Hope you are having a blessed day and that your Resurrection Sunday was wonderful too.

Miss Danika is now Fourteen

Time has just been flying by.  Over a week ago Danika turned 14, and not too long ago she turned 7, and just before that she was born.  She is turning into quite the young lady.  When my daughters have turned 14 we try to make it a special time.  It is when I allow them to begin wearing makeup.  I have always felt it a good idea to take them to a professional and let them learn from someone the best way to put it on and colors that work best for them.  I see very little reason for the young girls to wear makeup everyday, but for special occasions they can get all fancied up.

A friend of ours watched the three younger ones while Danika, Latisha, Sierra, and I went to get Danika's makeover and lunch.  It was a good time.  It is fun to see what Danika is inclined toward and see her have her special day.  Later we enjoyed Panda and family time.  Happy Birthday my sweet baby girl.  We are so blessed to have you in our lives.
