My Dad the Artist

I have always enjoyed my Dad's artistic ability.  He used to help me with school projects.  It was a great learning time for me.  Now he and my mom will take the kids over for sleep overs one at a time and occasionally they get an art lesson from Grandpa.  I think it is wonderful for the time my kids get to spend with their grandparents.  My mom and dad teach them in their God given gifts and I and the kids love time with grandparents.

Since my dad has retired he has had time to do more of the things he loves, like painting.  He has painted many pictures, some he gives away and some he keeps.  We have a couple pictures in the house that he has painted.  Now he is having an art show at a local coffee shop.  David and I stopped by there during our date night.  It was so great to see the pictures my dad created hanging in the shop.  Great job Daddy!!! I love and am thankful for all the gifts you have and share with others.

Have a great day.

Trip to Our Loves

The other weekend Sierra, Danika, and Cassandra went to girls camp, so we decided to take a trip with Aidric and Isabella to see Alexander, Ivy, and Weston.  It was so fun.  I am so thankful that they don't live too far away.  These little trips are so fun.  It is a blessing to get to spend time with them one on one and see how things are going.  They are doing great and little Weston in thriving.  He is such a happy boy. He just turned 6 months old.  Aidric was busy providing Weston with entertainment, their dog "Jack, Jack" (as Aidric calls him) with games, and Alex with bro time.

It's a ...

Last Thursday we got to find out the gender of our new grand baby.  I was able to watch August while Brent and Latisha went in for the ultrasound. The family all joined us for dinner, and Brent and Latisha did a good job of keeping it a secret.  At 7:00 they skyped in Alexander and Ivy for the reveal.  Brent and Latisha had made a volcano and we videotaped as they let the volcano explode in the gender color. . . and the color was pink.  Yep, a baby girl is about to join our family.  We are thrilled, thrilled, thrilled.  The pregnancy is going fabulous and we rejoice in our new blessing.

Have a great day and God bless.

Happy Fourth of July

It is our honor and privilege to celebrate our nation.  We live in the greatest country in the world, not a perfect country, but a great country.  Last Sunday at church our pastor took a few minutes to have us all pray for our nation and a for our President.  There is much negative we can say about both, I am so grateful it is not me that is being torn apart by the media and all the way down to the everyday Joe.  Bashing our nation and our President only brings division, but prayer will unite and bring prosperity.  I am so thankful for this nation that the Lord has allowed me to live in and for our President who has a desire to bring our nation back to where it should be.  As you celebrate your freedom, be sure and remember those who have blazed the trail to those freedoms you hold so dear.  The police officers, the government, the soldiers, and the President need your respect and your prayers.  God bless America.

I have mixed emotions about fireworks stands.  They are overwhelming to me and I always want a good deal.  If it isn't too busy I enjoy going and buying some fun fireworks. As a fund raiser for Sierra and Danika to go to National Fine Arts, we were able to work in a fireworks booth this year.  It was fun.  The first day was quite slow, but each day it got closer to the "Day" got a little busier.  I highly recommend buying fireworks early.  There is no discount for coming at the end, just a long hot line, with cranky people :).  We had the early shift so we are blessed to be done and getting ready for a party and lots of fireworks.  I am sure I will have more pictures but I just wanted to post these and say  "HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!! and God bless the USA.
